The greed led to a terrible situation where the people of Oklahoma started hurting and even killing the Osage people because they wanted the oil money for themselves. It's a story about how greed can make people do really bad things, and it became a mystery that the FBI had to solve to bring justice and protect the Osage people from the harm caused by greed.
